Vegetable Sandwich

This Vegetable Sandwich is a perfect breakfast or evening tiff-in for the kids as well as the person who are in diet to reduce weight. Kids love this sandwich and it is healthy too. 

Ingredients:

Sandwich Bread Slices - 8 nos
Butter - 100 gms
Mint chutney - 2 tbsp
Cucumber - 1, sliced in to thin rounds
Carrot - 1, sliced in to thin rounds
Onion - 1, sliced in to thin rounds
Tomato - 1, sliced in to thin rounds
Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp, finely chopped
Salt - as per taste
Black Pepper Powder - as per taste
Cheese - 4 slices


Method:


1. Butter all the slices of bread.


2. Spread 1 or 2 tsp of mint chutney to all slices.


3. Arrange 2 - 3 slices of carrot, cucumber, onion and tomato on the base bread slice.


4. Add Salt and Black pepper powder according to taste.


5. Sprinkle coriander leaves and keep one cheese slice over this.


6. Cover it with another slice of bread spreaded with mint chutney inside. 


7. Spread butter on the top of the bread and roast it. Do like this for the remaining bread slices.


8. Serve with tomato ketchup.



Milk Cake

Milk cake is a very simple recipe that you can make in a very less time and you can do this with the ingredients all that you have in home. No need to buy anything extra from the shop. We all do khoa from milk but this is different. I got this from my neighbour aunty. When i first do this , i kept the mixture few min extra. It was tasty but hard to bite but later i did that correct.


Ingredients:


Milk - 5 cups
Sugar - 3 cups
Cardamom powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1 pinch
Rava ( sooji ) - 1 tsp
Ghee - 2 tbsp


Method:


1. Heat a heavy bottomed Pan or you can use aluminium cooker because while boiling, the milk will come up. So, you need the lengthy vessel to prepare this.


2. Pour milk and make it to boil for a few min in low flame.


3. Add sugar, salt, Rava to it. Stir it till the sugar dissolves.


4. Stir it occasionally and do not forget to keep in low flame. It will take 40 - 45 min for the milk to thicken up. The colour will change to light brown.


5. After it thickens, stir it continuously. you must not let it stick at the bottom.


6. Add ghee if needed. The mixture will seperate from the vessel. While stirring the mixture will come along with the spatula. It means it is the good time to take it off from the flame. Add cardamom powder and mix well.


7. Put this mixture in a greased tray and let it cool for 5 - 10 min, then you can slice as you wish. 


You can take this as a snack or as sweet dish for meals.
